  Subject: Theft from a patient (CVPD case#03-05111)

On 03-17-2003 at approximately 1500 hrs a person wearing a stolen doctors smock posed as a physician and stole a very valuable ring from a patient at a local hospital. The suspect in this case may be familiar with medical practices and knew of medical procedures that the victim had earlier in the day.

The suspect conducted a brief examination of the victim. The examination consisted of talking to the victim and taking her vital signs. While speaking to the victim, the suspect told the victim that he was going to remove her ring and put it in the hospital safe.

The suspect is described as being a White male in his 40’s with an Olive complexion. The suspect has black hair with some gray. The victim believes that the suspect may have a very subtle Mediterranean or Middle Eastern accent.

The ring taken is described as a yellow gold USN Annapolis graduate ring. The ring had the victim’s wedding ring soldered to the Annapolis ring. The approximate value of this ring is $10,000.
