Upsetting

The images are the same ones that were on TV during college. I remember trying to convince a girl that during times of war it is important for people to be close to one another. She wasn’t having any of it.

The United States of America is bombing the hell out of a city that from here looks a lot like Tucson, Arizona.

I don’t care, and I’m not all that interested in the NCAA basketball tournament that’s been bumped off CBS so the network can air grainy and blurry images of a burning Baghdad. I didn’t fill out a bracket; by keeping the $10 entry fee, I can almost buy a share of Cisco Systems.

Today is payday, and my direct deposit has nearly caused me to forget about the polarization of American politics and the disappearing middle class to which I aspire.

Pay has infused me with goodwill.
No, I feel good anyway.
